COVID-19 Employment Resources

When LOOP was founded in 2015, we established our vision: to help build companies, expand careers, and change lives. Today, we continue to live up to that vision. While a global pandemic may not have been a part of our plan, we are working harder than ever for our clients and candidates. Over the next few weeks we will be actively monitoring COVID-19 and we have made it our mission to provide helpful and informational employment news to residents in the CSRA. We will regularly update the Employment Resources page as we come across developing news that we believe will be beneficial to you.

Paid Sick Leave and FMLA

A recent bill regarding the Family Medical Leave Act was passed and will apply to companies with less than 500. It states that full-time employees will receive up to 80 hours of paid sick leave if they are ill, showing symptoms of being ill, quarantining, or pursuing COVID-19 testing. Full-time employees who are caring for a child or relative affected by the health crisis are eligible for extended family leave. This leave may be unpaid for up to 10 days - after this period of time the employee will qualify for paid leave. These new laws regarding paid sick leave and FMLA will go into effect April 1, 2020 and expire December 31, 2020.
